Our Objectives

The Objectives of Abek Community Development Program

Our Aims and Objectives: The aims and objectives of Abek Community Development Program are to ensure that the members obtain education in the United States and back home in Southern Sudan. ACDP aims and objectives also are to ensure that the members have medical attention whenever there is any medical emergency due to accident or illness.

The Abek Community Development Program acknowledges some basic goals that will promote a bright future in Abek Community including:

1. To Promote Education for all the members of the Abek Community in Southern Sudan and in the USA by:
   • a) Providing educational facilities and materials (building schools in Southern Sudan) to a better academic standard of all Abek members who want to go to schools
   • b) Encouraging Adult Education to those who never went to school by helping them in writing and reading.
   • c) Providing tuition scholarships to those who can not afford to pay their tuition
2. To Enhance Peace and Unity in Abek Community by:
   • a) Encouraging social and educational interaction among students in Abek Community and the whole community in abroad and back home in Southern Sudan.
   • b) Promoting a social "salad bowl" and good relations with other Communities within Sudan and as well as here in the United States.
   • c) Maintaining Sudanese cultural practices as the backbone of their living.
3. To Provide Medical Support to those who have been victimized by any kind of disease by:
   • a) Building medical centers in Southern Sudan (Abek Community Villages).
   • b) Assisting members of the Abek Community in the United States.
   • c) Promoting and teaching awareness about transmittable diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis, etc.
4. To Help in Resettlement of the Abek Members who were displaced by the war to integrate them with Abek members back home in Southern Sudan.
